volunteers Freely Given, Freely Receive

My Neighbor’s Place’s motto is “freely given, freely receive”, we operate by relying on donations of food and clothing and the hours our volunteers share each week!

Our clothing closet is in need of gently used, clean clothing (infant-adult) and shoes as well as kitchen ware, fans, bedroom linens, towels, and baby gear.

Our food pantry accepts non-perishable items like canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, meal helpers, as well as toiletries such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, diapers, and deodorant.  If you would like to make a donation of fresh fruit or veggies please contact us.

You can drop your donations off at the bins at Westwood United Methodist Church located at 3460 Epworth Ave Monday – Friday from 9:00 am- 7:00 pm or at My Neighbor’s Place from 10-12 on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

“Everybodyphoto can be great…because anybody can serve.  You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.  You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.  You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”  -Martin Luther King Jr.

There are number of ways to serve at My Neighbor’s Place, from helping at the Pantry or Closet, serving a community meal, welcoming neighbors or perhaps you or your group has a new idea!  Coming in Fall 2015 we are hoping to launch Celebrate Recovery, which is a faith based recovery program on Sunday Evenings.  We are looking for partners who will be able to help serve a meal, lead worship or assist in teaching.  If you are interested in volunteering, contact us below!

Financial donations are always appreciated.  Gifts help to fund our food purchases, programming, monthly meals, our annual Christmas party, and other special events.  Please consider a tax deductible donation to help us serve our neighbors better!  You can donate to My Neighbor’s Place through the Westwood United Methodist Church’s online giving website.  Mark the “My Neighbor’s Place” box.  My Neighbor’s Place Online Giving.
